ENVIRONMENTAL
CONSULTING ::
AEE
has achieved competence in consulting
by building intellectual and infrastructural
expertise over the decade. Our unique
comprehension of the Environmental Scenario
in India and capability therein facilitate
pragmatic and effective management systems
for the industry. Diverse expertise in
environmental engineering and sciences
with years of domain knowledge help in
deadline services and implementation systems
to the exact requirements of the clients
within realistic time scale and cost points.
Detailed
Engineering ~>
AEE
is capable of conceptual design as well
as detailed engineering of industrial
effluent treatment plants (ETPs)/CETPs,
and sewage treatment plants (STPs) based
on aerobic/anaerobic treatment schemes.
AEEPL also takes up detailed design of
incinerators-gas/liquid/solid, scrubbers
etc., for various types of gaseous pollutants.
Environment
Impact Assessment ~>
Our
mainstay in consulting, EIA best showcases
our total expertise as it converges several
other services we provide to the industry
as stand-alone. We have extensive experience
in assessing the environmental and risk
impacts of large, technically complex projects
located in sensitive environments for a
diverse spectrum of industrial clients and
successfully presenting the assessments
to the Ministry of Environment and Forests,
NGOs and public hearings.
With
more than 35 EIAs to our credit on most
of the technically complicated sectors such
as caustic chlorine, thermal power, petrochemicals,
bulk drugs, basic organic chemicals, ports
and harbors, cement, metallurgy, etc. Acclaimed
for our contributions in EIA policy in India,
AEE was one of the qualified teams for Environmental
Management Capacity Building, a World Bank
project for the Ministry of Environment
and Forests, Govt. of India.
Cleaner
Production ~>
Cleaner
Production or Waste Minimization Assessment
has the potential of becoming a panacea
for the pollution intensive Indian industry
as its focus is on prevention or loss of
revenue in waste, a concept instantly acceptable
to the Indian business scenario. We are
a trained team specializing in WM/CP interventions
in pollution intensive chemical industries.
Trained experts help the industry generate
profit from waste by looking at their production
process from the perspective of waste reduction
and quantifying in savings in monitory terms.
AEE
has demonstrated capability to several-folds
reduce pollution loads on the end-of-pipeline
treatment utilities in Food Processing and
Pesticide and Bulk Drug sectors.
Some
of the projects demonstrating capability
in consulting are as listed:
Central
Pollution Control Board
Determination of Optimum Water Consumption
Limit for Bulk Drug Manufacturing Industry.
Location: All India Industry Assessment
for Standard Laying
Year of assessment: 2002
Sector: Bulk Drugs and Pharmaceutical
The study is aimed at determination of water
consumption in the Indian Bulk Drug Industry
for prescribing consumption limits under
the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution)
Cess Act, 1977, for granting rebate to the
industries promised in the Act. The study
is based on a three level survey and interviews,
with industry visits to more than 35 industries.
Concepts of Cleaner Production will be used
to arrive at the optimum level of water
consumption after ascertaining the actual
and theoretical water consumption in unit
process and utilities.
United
Phosphorus Ltd.
Comprehensive
Environment Impact Assessment
Location:
Ankleshwar, Gujarat
Year of assessment: 1994
Sector: Agrochemicals
The
much-praised assignment was carried out
amongst the first EIA after the EIA notification
made in the same year. Addressing impact
of an industry in an industrial estate,
the EIA then used GIS, a concept much ahead
of its time in 1994.
UNITED STATES TRADE AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
Feasibility
study for the GIDC, AMC wastewater recycling
project Location:
Ankleshwar, Ahmedabad.
Year of assessment: 2002 This
project deals with the feasibility studies
for recycling of treated wastewater from
the common effluent treatment plants(CETPs)
from the industrial estates of Ankleshwar,
Panoli and Jhagadia. AEE would be involved
in some of the components of the is project-analysis,EIA
detailed design etc. The project duration
is about 9 months. There is second component
of USTDA project namely, treated sewage
wastewater recycling for AMC STPs at Ahmedabad.
National
Thermal Power Corporation Ltd.
Environment
Audit
Location:
Jhanor-Gandhar, Gujarat
Year of assessment: 1999
Sector: Gas based Combined Cycle Power Plant
The
year round assignment apart from the audit
compulsions was a informal training to the
NTPC Environmental Management Division in
statutory compliance and design of monitoring
network and infrastructure.
Morepen
Laboratories Ltd.
Rapid
Environment Impact Assessment
Location:
Baddi, Himachal Pradesh
Year of assessment: 2002
Sector: Bulk Drugs and Pharmaceutical formulation.
The
project poses unique impact identification
and quantification as the product combination
keeps on changing. Also challenging from
the air pollution monitoring and point
source pollutant dispersal modeling due
to inversions and undulating terrain.
